10 counties are under surveillance

The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for 10 Maryland counties. Some locations in West Virginia and West Virginia are under alert until 7:10 pm local time.

These are the counties in vigilance for tornado alert

Maryland: Allegheny, ciudad y condado de Baltimore, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick, Garrett, Harford, Howard, Washington

Virginia: Frederick, Winchester, West Virginia, Berkeley, Jefferson, Morgan.

In the case of DC, the temperature is expected to reach 90° F during the weekend. Storm Team 4 meteorologist Mike Stinneford said another feature of the summer – thunderstorms – may appear in parts of the region on Friday, particularly in the northern suburbs.

  • The heat wave will reach its peak on Saturday, with temperatures expected to be 20 to 30 degrees above average across much of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, reaching temperatures of 100° F.
  • The heat will leave on Sunday when a series of storms roll into the region pushing Monday and Tuesday’s highs back below 70° F.
