Santo Domingo, Oct 27.- The Government ordered a 10% increase for almost all retired police officers, which will take effect starting next November.
The Ministry of the Interior and Police reported this Friday that the increase will benefit 23,673 retired police officers, 97% of those in that condition, and that this will lead to an increase of more than 43 million per month in the police payroll.
The readjustment will be received in a staggered manner by retired police officers with salaries from 10,000 pesos to 100,000 pesos per month, the agency added in a note.
Interior and Police added that the provisions of the increase are established in a communication that the Budget director, José Rijo, sent to the general director of the National Police, Eduardo Alberto Then, this week.EFE
