If the sparkly lights and holiday tunes haven’t got you in the holiday spirit yet, don’t fret. There’s still plenty of time to soak up the magic of the season. And with no less than ten local events on the calendar, there’s surely something to suit every taste. From a jaw dropping festival of lights to cozy and eclectic holiday markets, a brisk hike, and a visit from the Big Guy himself, there’s plenty to inspire feelings of awe, wonder, good cheer and celebration.

Harvest Moon Festival of Lights
The North Salem orchard is magically transformed into an illuminated forest full of marvelous structures and festive decorations. Over half a million brilliant lights set the farm aglow in the form of whimsical creatures, light-changing orbs, thematic installations and interactive light displays.

Hanukkah Storytime & Craft at the Keeler Library
The Ruth Keeler Memorial Library invites families and children of all ages to drop by the library for a special Hanukkah craft and storytime. Registration is requested.

Folkways Holiday Market
This family-owned business invites locals to gather together inside their landmark 1917 train station building in Croton Falls for festive cheer and artisanal delights. Shop meticulously crafted wreaths by Penny Karvounis, elevated one-of-a-kind gifts by Silke Stoddard, indulge in Raclette service from Bloomy of Dobbs Ferry, enjoy complimentary mulled wine tasting and treat the little ones to free hot apple cider.

Chanukah Village Walk 2023
Main Street in Ridgefield will transform into a family-friendly holiday experience, all lit up for Chanukah. Beginning at 4:00 p.m., attendees can enjoy a photo booth, fire show, live DJ, cotton candy, Chanukah crafts and gifts, balloon shaping, latkes, donuts and hot apple cider. The event is free but RSVPs are required. A menorah lighting will take place at 5:00 p.m. in front of Deborah Anne’s Sweet Shoppe.

Christmas Concert at St. James
Every year, St. James Episcopal Church invites community members to come together and share in the songs of the season. The St. James Choir will lead a musical journey of holiday traditions from around the world.

Mistletoe Market at Honeybee Grove & Flower Farm
Now in its second year, the Mistletoe Market is a family friendly, outdoor feast for the senses, featuring holiday gifts from nearly 20 local artisans, food, holiday decor and photos with Santa in a vintage VW bus. No tickets or reservations required.

Family Holiday Hike & Fireside Caroling
The Lewisboro Land Trust invites families to celebrate the season outdoors at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. Attendees will enjoy a short hike followed by fireside caroling.

The Hammond’s Holiday Party
North Salem’s own Hammond Museum & Japanese Stroll Garden invites residents to a free, festive evening of fun, great company, delicious food and drinks, and kids’ activities. Listen to vintage jazz by local group Chick’s Candy Store while noshing on food from chef Paul Gileno of Hayfields.

Croton Falls Fire Department Candy Cane Run
The Croton Falls Fire Department’s annual Candy Cane Run takes place Sunday, December 17 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Santa and his fire department ‘elves’ will pass out candy canes and spread good cheer throughout the streets of North Salem. The morning of the event, the Department will post a link on their website and social media channels for residents to track Santa’s progress.

North Salem Improvement Society Christmas Eve Caroling
The North Salem Improvement Society’s Christmas Eve event will have you feeling like you stepped into a holiday fairy tale. Residents gather around the town Christmas tree on Route 116, singing Christmas carols, sipping hot cider and hot chocolate, warming their mittened hands around a bonfire carefully tended by the Croton Falls Fire Department. Santa always makes an appearance just before his big night begins, to make sure he knows what North Salem’s kids have on their wish lists.
