TikTok allows ten-minute videos. The platform has this format for the past few months. Previously, videos TikTok might last up to 3 minutes following a change in July 2021. Prior to this, the limit was 60 seconds following an initial extension of 15 seconds.
The extended video length will give creators more time and flexibility when shooting content like cooking demonstrations, beauty tutorials, educational content, comedy skits and more. Prior to the new video length, the creators had circumvented the limitations of TikTok by encouraging viewers to follow them for part 2 or more of their video series. While this sometimes works, it can be frustrating for users to have to scroll through a creator’s feed to find the right video in a series.
