100 people evacuated from Mariupol, Ukraine

The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Osnat Lubrani, said today, Tuesday, that the organization succeeded in evacuating 100 people from the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol, adding that most of them arrived in the city of Zaporizhia, where they are receiving humanitarian aid.
“Thanks to the operation, 100 men, women, children and the elderly were finally able to leave the trenches under the Azovstal plant and see the light of day following two months,” Lubrani said in a statement sent to reporters.
The International Committee of the Red Cross, which also participated in the evacuation, issued a parallel statement, saying that regarding 100 people from the factory area in Mariupol arrived in Zaporizhia on Tuesday, adding that some of them were wounded.
