Hungarian architecture Students Erect Striking ‘100x Round Table’ Installation in Rural Ipolytarnóc

IPOLYTARNÓC, Hungary – In a unique blend of architectural ingenuity and artistic expression, a group of architecture students has erected a captivating installation titled “100x Round Table / Field of Sparks” in a rural Hungarian landscape.the project, conceived and executed by students from the Architects’ Atelier in Győr, Hungary, has transformed an open field near the village of Ipolytarnóc, close to the Slovakian border, into a temporary hub for architectural exploration.

The installation,as photographed by Ungerhofer Dániel,Fátrai Júlia,Reizinger Ákos, and Laczkó Péter, features a series of round tables, seemingly scattered across the “field of Sparks” – a deliberate name suggesting a place where ideas ignite and manifest. The tables themselves are simple in design, yet their arrangement and the overall concept create a powerful visual statement, according to representatives from the studio.

Ipolytarnóc, nestled in the picturesque Northern Hungarian Highlands, provides a stunning backdrop for the project. The Architects’ Atelier, based in Győr, served as the central point where the creative vision for this unique installation started.

the “100x Round Table” serves not just as a visual spectacle but also as a functional space. It encourages dialog and collaboration, transforming the open field into a meeting place for architects, artists, and locals alike. The installation blurs the boundaries between art and architecture, offering a space for experimentation and innovative thinking outside of the traditional studio environment.

While details on the specific materials used and the construction process remain limited, the images suggest a focus on sustainability and integration with the natural environment. The project exemplifies a growing trend in architectural education, emphasizing hands-on experience and community engagement.

The “100x Round Table / Field of Sparks” installation is a temporary structure, but its impact is expected to last far beyond its physical lifespan. It serves as a testament to the power of architectural intervention in shaping public spaces and fostering creative dialogue within a community, designers said.
