Rivka Michaeli dedicated her show to the songwriter and TV presenter who passed away in December 2023 at the age of 86 • and talked with his son and close friends
The television presenter and songwriter Amos Ettinger passed away in December 2023. Following this, Rivka Michaeli dedicated an episode to him in her program ‘Come to Sit’, during which she talked to his relatives and friends who told about him and the show in his honor ‘When a light is on in your window’ that will be held at the Music Days festival in Holon on April 26.
Six months before Ettinger’s death, his son Avi invited a group of his father’s friends, including Rivka Michaeli and Moshe Timor, and he explained the reason for this: “Let him have a good time. I think he shed a tear.” However, he added: “I’m not that concerned with commemorations.”
Deganit Dedo, a singer who collaborated with Amos, told about him: “We traveled the world in many places. We performed in Russia-Ukraine and it was always fun with Amos. Despite the age gap between us, we were really close friends and even in the last year he had left, I visited him once a month and had Conversations with him, he was a special man.”
And also: the singer Ilanit went on the air and talked about the song she sang ‘Jar after midnight’ written by Amos Ettinger and composed by Nurit Hirsch: “I recorded the song and I remember that Nurit Hirsch brought it to me and I was very excited. I didn’t know Amos Ettinger then and then I flipped through the book where the song appeared Later I met Amos and we had a deep acquaintance, I even participated in his program ‘Such a Life’ which was a great program.”
