Intel has yet to fully roll out its Alder Lake-S line of processors. Yet the rest is already mentioned and the software ecosystem is preparing for the arrival of Raptor Lake.

The 12th Core generation introduced a major change. The Hybrid architecture deployed high-performance cores (P-Core) and high-efficiency solutions (E-Core). Intel already has the sequel in its boxes, Raptor Lake. These processors will normally land this year, which explains why the Linux kernel is already preparing.

According to Phoronix, audio support for Intel Raptor Lake processors was implemented in Linux kernel 5.18. This activation work is no different from that of the Skylake era. Interestingly, however, the support for Raptor Lake is slowly falling into place. This can be seen with the Linux 5.17 kernel which took advantage of support for the Gen 12 graphics part of these chips. Gradually support will become full as the launch date approaches.
