Global entity carries out tests to identify super-intelligent Brazilians in 13 cities

The Mensa Brasil Association, an entity that brings together people with high intellectual abilities in the country and official representative of Mensa Internacional, the main high IQ organization in the world, has just announced the carrying out of new collective tests this year in 13 Brazilian cities to identify people with intelligence far above average, popularly called “superintelligent”.

Collective assessments by the Mensa Brasil Association will take place in 13 cities on 01/27, 02/03 and 02/17

The entity promotes, on 01/27, 02/03 and 02/17, new rounds of admission tests, with assessment of intelligence quotient (IQ), in a total of 13 Brazilian cities, in ten states of the federation: Campinas (SP), Fortaleza (CE), Recife (PE), Aracaju (SE), João Pessoa (PB), Ribeirão Preto (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Natal (RN), Curitiba (PR), Jundiaí ( SP), Goiânia (GO), Salvador (BA) and Florianópolis (SC).

The assessments are aimed at people aged 17 or over and who are studying or have studied higher education. The test location and time are communicated individually and privately to registrants. The tests are carried out in person, under the supervision of a psychology professional, in accordance with guidelines from the Federal Psychology Council (CFP).

In addition to the 13 cities, the entity carries out individual tests in nine municipalities, with options to schedule a date, time and location according to your convenience, just sign up via the website

The entity also offers the possibility of individual tests in nine Brazilian cities. The rules are the same as the collective exams, with the difference that there is no fixed date. The candidate registers on the Mensa Brasil website and receives contact from the applying psychologist to schedule the best day and time according to the convenience and schedule of both (see list of cities below).

According to Carlos Eduardo Fonseca, president of the Mensa Brasil Association, the topic of high cognitive abilities is of paramount importance for the country’s development. “Therefore, identifying people with high intelligence is a fundamental tool to help Brazil develop public policies on giftedness and high intelligence. skills, which today do not reach the population to be served. If 3 to 5% of the population is gifted and less than 27,000 have access to school education, for example, it means that Brazil fails to identify them”, explains Fonseca.

“Bringing this problem to public debate is essential to achieving full compliance with the rights of individuals with high intelligence. Mensa plays a fundamental role in this work, in the sense of contributing to identification processes and providing environments that help develop the potential of its members”, observes the entity’s president.

Mensa Brasil recommends that Brazilian governments adopt a structured national system for assessing the intelligence of children enrolled in early childhood and elementary education, both in public and private educational institutions. This measure is already applied in several countries, with important and positive results.

In the entity’s view, this model would serve as a basis for the broad identification of so-called super intelligent people, even in the first years of schooling, contributing to better targeting, development and use of intellectual potential in Brazil, contributing to the evolution of these individuals and benefiting society Brazilian.

Currently, the entity has more than 3,000 super-intelligent Brazilians identified across the country. According to mapping, the state of São Paulo leads the ranking, with 1369 super intelligent people. Next are Rio de Janeiro, with 335 people, Minas Gerais, with 240, Paraná, with 229, and the Federal District, with 190.
