Berlin ∙ Reports reveal that 13 women are assaulted by their partners every hour in Germany. The number of victims has increased in recent years. It is also mentioned that the number of unreported cases may be higher. November 25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.This is an opportunity to look at the current figures.

Although there has been a slight decrease in numbers compared to the previous year, the report shows that the attacks continue. Federal Family Minister Lisa Poss said there are 350 women’s shelters in Germany. The minister also said that for the financial security of the women’s welfare system, a unified legal framework will be created.

An average of 13 women are assaulted by an intimate partner every hour. The report also states that almost every day the partner or ex-partner tries to kill the woman.
