15-Year Spelling Mistake at Stib Bus Stop Finally Corrected: Etangs Noir Becomes Etangs Noirs

2023-10-31 08:40:00

This is information that makes you smile. A spelling mistake on a Stib bus stop remained the same for 15 long years. As reported by our colleagues at SudInfo, the Stib has just been questioned by several Internet users and will therefore proceed with the correction.

The bus stop in question is located opposite the Etangs noirs metro station and is also called Etangs noir, but without the “s” in noir. This is where the spelling mistake is found and the Stib announced that the missing “s” would be added.

As usual, the Brussels transport company initially reacted with humor, commenting “Hey, it’s Monday for everyone, eh”. Contacted by SudInfo, the company spokesperson then declared that contacts would be made with JCDecaux for the correction. “The name will be replaced as quickly as possible, if it had been reported to us before, it would have been done sooner, because the sign is not new,” she said.
