16 new lines to link Italy to Morocco

Morocco is presenting itself at the next International Tourism Fair (TTG Travel Experience 2022), scheduled for October 12 to 14, 2022 at the Rimini Exhibition Center, with many innovations, in particular the strengthening of air links. According to the Italian press, the concept of the stand of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) has also been completely renewed (Hall C2 Stand 32/37, with 12 Moroccan co-exhibitors) which relaunches the campaign “Morocco, Kingdom of Light and stands out for being eco-sustainable and modular and contains all the distinctive elements of the country, we continue.

The stand will be dematerialized and 100% digitized, thanks to the use of the most modern technologies: augmented reality, interactive floors, LED screens and digital terminals, explains the press. “The ONMT’s strategy is to position Morocco among the most popular tourist destinations in the world, by strengthening its notoriety and its attractiveness on the entire Italian market”, declares Aziz Mnii, director of the Moroccan National Office of tourism for Italy and Greece. “We want to send a message of comfort and resistance to the Italian travel industry: by joining forces, we can do more,” he adds.

Italy is the fourth most important European market, after having overtaken that of Germany, recalls the same source, stressing that the air capacity between the two countries is particularly important. Indeed, Royal Air Maroc, Air Arabia, Ryanair, Wizz Air, easyJet and Tuifly.be operate 124 weekly flights to Morocco from 9 Italian cities, bringing weekly capacity to 1,400,000 seats, i.e. +24% compared to in the summer of 2019 (1,116,000). The press also announces the opening of 16 new lines, including Agadir and Fez operated by Ryanair and Wizz Air linking Milan and Rome to Casablanca and Marrakech.
