Vienna (OTS) In the Panikengasse from Herbststraße to Thaliastraße in the 16th district, an attractive and climate-friendly street in the heart of Ottakring will be built by December 2023. New trees will be planted, numerous new green areas will be created, drinking fountains and consumption-free seating elements will be installed and the stops of tram line 9 will be renovated. On Tuesday, August 8, 2023, the City of Vienna – Road Administration and Road Construction will start work.

During the construction period, Panikengasse will be closed to motorized individual traffic. Access to the approved parking spaces is permitted. Tram line 9 continues to run through the construction site area. During the conversion of the existing stops, replacement stops will be set up in the vicinity.

During construction work in the area of ​​Panikengasse/Koppstrasse crossing, one lane on Koppstrasse may be temporarily blocked. For the duration of the work on Hasnerstrasse, it will be closed to motorized individual traffic. Cycling is still possible on Hasnerstraße.

In principle, the work is carried out during the day, but night work could become necessary during the work in the area of ​​the tracks.
