18 km traffic jam at the eastern end of Bangabandhu Bridge

Due to the pressure of extra vehicles, traffic jam has been created in 18 km area on Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway.

From the early hours of Thursday (March 16), cars are running from the east side of Bangabandhu Bridge to Pauli in Kalihati Upazila of Tangail. The passengers have suffered.

Lutfar Rahman, a truck driver going to Naogaon from Elenga area, said that it took regarding 1 hour to reach Elenga from Pauli. The car in front does not pull. I don’t even feel like sitting down.

Elenga Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Zahid Hasan said that traffic pressure increased from midnight. Besides, reckless driving by drivers leads to traffic jams. The vehicles are moving at a stop. We are trying to speed up traffic flow.
