(Washington = Yonhap News) Correspondent Kim Kyung-hee = US State Department spokeswoman Ned Price expressed concern on the 6th (local time) that North Korea might conduct a seventh nuclear test in the near future.
“We are concerned that North Korea may soon conduct a seventh nuclear test,” Price said at a briefing.
“This is an emergency and we can assure you that we are prepared for it,” Price said.
Earlier, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) secretary-general Rafael Grossi warned at a board meeting that “we observed signs that one of the tunnels of the Punggye-ri nuclear test site had reopened,” adding that “this may be a preparation for a nuclear test.”
