The social tariff for electricity and gas will increase in January, by 7.8% and 9.7% respectively, according to data from the federal energy regulator (Creg) published on Friday.
The single-hour social tariff for electricity will reach, in the first quarter of 2023, 28.579 cents per KWh (26.510 cents in the fourth quarter of 2022), including VAT. For gas, the amount will be 3.729 cents per KWh (3.400 cents), including VAT. Around 2 million people are entitled to this reduced and identical tariff from all energy suppliers.
