TEXAS – Two 19-year-old men have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a father and son in the driveway of their home on Texas-To Airport Road, the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office said. The incident took place on Saturday, January 14. .
Preston Wesseling (38) and Evan Wesseling (14) were killed. Llano County Sheriff’s officers responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call. Two people who were shot in the driveway were rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.
The airport is 90 miles northwest of Austin. Officials said that youths who reached the house there fired at both of them and they do not know what prompted them to fire. The suspects were arrested and booked into the Guadalupe County Jail. They have been charged with capital murder.
School district officials wrote on Facebook that the victim was Evan Burnett High School student.
The Evan family have been members of the BCISD community for many years. The death of both has shocked the community. The case is being jointly investigated by the Llano County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Rangers and the District Attorney’s Office.
