Why did the Banque cantonale neuchâteloise take years to realize that it was the victim of a scam? The question arises following the establishment confirmed on Wednesday that it had filed a complaint once morest a former executive. Between 2013 and his dismissal last year, the man, identified by ArcInfo as being then treasurer of the BCN, would have committed fraud for an amount estimated at around 10 million francs. A dozen of his relatives would have benefited from his actions.

Assault on the Capitol: the conclusions on the role of Donald Trump revealed
A man with buffalo horns wandering the halls of the United States Congress, elected officials crawling on the ground with gas masks… the assault on the Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump on January 6, 2021 marked history. But a year and a half later, a crucial question remains unanswered: what was the former president’s exact role?

After almost a year of investigation, a parliamentary commission presents its first conclusions on Thursday.
In a hearing scheduled for 8:00 p.m. local time, the so-called “January 6” commission will reveal how the chaos of that day “was the result of a coordinated campaign to overturn the result of the 2020 presidential election and prevent the transfer power from Donald Trump to Joe Biden”, announced a parliamentary source.
“We will immerse the American people in the reality of this violence, we will remember how appalling it was,” she said.
For nearly a year, this group of elected officials — 7 Democrats and 2 Republicans — has heard more than 1,000 witnesses, including two children of the former president, and sifted through 140,000 documents to shed light on the facts and gestures of Donald Trump and his entourage before, during, and following this event which shook American democracy.
two witnesses
SMS, official documents and supporting videos, a series of lawyers and key witnesses will present the different scenarios envisaged by Donald Trump and his entourage to reverse the course of the 2020 presidential election, until the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
On this cold winter day, under a sky laden with heavy clouds, thousands of supporters of Donald Trump gathered in Washington to denounce the result of the election which lost the Republican billionaire.
After hearing the president invite them to “march to the Capitol”, a crowd stormed the seat of the US Congress, sending shock waves around the world.
Capitol Police officer Caroline Edwards, “the first member of law enforcement to be injured by rioters” on January 6, as well as documentary writer Nick Quested, whose team documented the assault, will be the first witnesses of this hearing.
A sign of the importance that the commission wants to give to its revelations, the first hearing was organized at prime time. It will be broadcast on many news channels continuously, but shunned by Fox News, the favorite channel of the conservatives – a new illustration of the deep political fault line which has divided the United States since “January 6”.
“Threats” to democracy
Because a year and a half following the assault on the Capitol, millions of supporters of Donald Trump remain firmly convinced that the 2020 election is marred by fraud. And this, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
The commission of January 6 therefore also promised to expose the “ongoing threats to American democracy”, which will hold midterm elections in November.
The idea is to “show that there is a model that started before the election, until January 6” 2021. This model “continues to this day”, assured a parliamentary source.
The commission’s supporters say its work is essential to ensuring that one of the darkest episodes in American history is never repeated.
But the majority of Republicans denounce the work of this group of elected officials, the main interested party Donald Trump castigating a “witch hunt”.
The Republican Party, over which it retains an iron fist, has already promised to bury its work if it were to take control of the House of Representatives during the mid-term legislative elections.
The parliamentary inquiry therefore faces a major challenge, that of presenting a story, evidence, capable of capturing the attention of the general public and convincing it of the importance of its revelations.
Because if the images of this event are still vivid, opinion polls place this investigation very low in the list of concerns of American households, far behind inflation or the price of gasoline.
Five other hearings, throughout the month of June, will complete Thursday’s presentation.

Los dizziness are a reason for frequent inquiry, both in Primary Care and in the Emergency Department and, although most of the time it is not serious, “it is very disabling and it can greatly reduce the quality of life of the person who suffers from it”, as pointed out by the head of the Otorhinolaryngology Working Group of the Spanish Society of General and Family Physicians (SEMG), on the occasion of the celebration of its Congress National from June 7 to 11 in Bilbao.
The XXVIII National Congress of General and Family Medicine has included in its scientific program a update of the most frequent diseases and pathologiesas is the case of vertigo, whose incidence increases between old people“but it can affect women and men of any age, and even children”, reported Manuel Mozota Núñez.
The head of the SEMG Otorhinolaryngology Working Group has listed the differences between peripheral and central vertigo. Peripheral vertigo is due to an alteration in the structures of the inner ear that control balance, which is the svestibular system or vestibular nerve that connects with the brain. It is the most common type, includes between 85 to 90 percent of cases of vertigo and is distinguished by a sudden onset and its symptoms are usually intense, increasing with movement of the head or change of posture. The most frequent clinic would be the presence of nystagmus, dizziness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, tachycardia, loss of balance and sometimes tinnitus.
On the other hand, central vertigo would be due to a change in the brain, so it is not related to head movements or changes in posture. Its symptoms are usually less intense and appear and evolve progressively. In the same way, Mozota remembers that she can be accompanied by neurological symptoms such as diplopia, ataxia, facial paralysis and dysarthria among others.
Prevalence and incidence of vertigo
Knowing the people who are affected by vertigo “is complicated”, according to Mozota. The results of a study published in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine suggest that dizziness and vertigo are common in the population, with a prevalence of 23 percent and an approximate incidence of 3 percent. The most frequent diagnoses were paroxysmal positional vertigo benign (28.2 percent) and vestibular migraine (28.2 percent), followed by Ménière’s disease (13.8 percent), disorders of vascular origin (5.7 percent), chronic subjective dizziness (4, 6 percent) and vestibular neuritis (4 percent).
In general, “most of the problems that affect the vestibular system tend to have a benign cause and evolve favorably, although during the acute phase of the episodes, and depending on the type of vertigo, there are drugs that can help mitigate the symptoms”, in the words of the SEMG expert.
