A few days before the resumption of the French Basketball Championship, the TrashTalk editorial staff thought that it would not be bad to present our national elite a little in terms of the orange ball, and therefore to take a look at the house of 18 teams that will compete in the 2023-24 season. Come on, here we go again this weekend! The 2023/24 season of the French Championship promises to be particularly interesting, for quite a few reasons. Already, those who thought that the post-Victor Wembanyama era would be difficult to cope with have been put to the ground: other nuggets are only waiting for the start of hostilities to show that the NBA is on their side! Zaccharie Risacher in Bourg, Melvin Ajinça in Saint-Quentin, Tidjane Salaun in Cholet… some great prospects to watch play.
As for the rest of the championship, we are obviously thinking of the ogres that are Monaco and ASVEL with impressive numbers, but also of the end of the table which will be put under pressure from the start… since this season, three teams go down to Pro B! The Championship goes from 18 to 16 teams next year, enough to force the current residents of the elite to give everything to secure a retention which will be crucial. Also in our minds, the farewell tour of the legend Pascal Donnadieu with Nanterre, the return of Chalon and Saint-Quentin to the big boys… you see, we are still going to experience great basketball moments in France.
