[Sports News]The third day of the 2023 Asian Athletics Championships will be held in Bangkok, Thailand. Yu Yaxin ranked seventh in the women’s long jump final with a jump of 6.23 meters. Tomorrow, Chen Mingtai and Gao Tanlong will make their debut in the men’s long jump. The three Hong Kong players Li Kangjie, Shi Jincheng and Liang Yunyi who played in the men’s and women’s 100m semi-finals all missed the final.

Yu Yaxin jumped 6.15 meters in the women’s long jump preliminaries, and then won the seventh place in the final with a jump of 6.23 meters. The champion was won by Misuzu Qin Cheng from Japan who jumped 6.97 meters, and the runner-up and third place were taken by Indian and Chinese players.

The men’s long jump preliminaries originally scheduled to be held this morning were canceled due to insufficient number of players due to withdrawals. Therefore, Gao Tanlang and Chen Mingtai will directly advance to tomorrow’s finals. In the Hong Kong Athletics Championships held in April, Gao Tanlong broke two personal bests in the men’s long jump final, and finally won the championship with 8.01 meters, and became the second Hong Kong player to jump over 8 meters. And Chen Mingtai is the first Hong Kong long jumper to break the 8-meter mark. He jumped 7.66 meters in the World Athletics Tour Bronze Class last month, and won the gold in the Meeting EAP d’Annecy in France. Both of them have jumped 8 meters. It is believed that both of them will aim to jump 8 meters in this competition. If he can win a medal in tomorrow’s event, it may give him a shot in the arm for the next World Championships and Asian Games.

The three Hong Kong players Li Kangjie, Shi Jincheng and Liang Yunyi who participated in the men’s and women’s 100m semi-finals all missed the final. Li Kangjie and Shi Jincheng, who also advanced in 10.46 yesterday, ran 10.53 and 10.57 respectively today. In the women’s 100m, Liang Yunyi ranked 8th in the group and missed the final with 12.03.
