The Geminid meteor shower, which is counted as one of the three major meteor showers, is known to produce a steady stream of meteors every year, and is the meteor shower where you can see the largest number of meteors a year in the Northern Hemisphere.The meteors of the meteor shower flow during the time when the “radiant point” rises above the horizon, but the radiant point of the Geminid meteor shower rises above the horizon in the early hours of the night, so it is visible almost all night. This is an opportunity for observation. They are most numerous late at night when the radiant rises close to the zenith.
Shooting stars fly all over the sky, so try to look as widely as possible in the sky, focusing on the direction away from street lights.

According to the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, the number of meteors that can be expected when observing in a dark sky environment is 30 or more per hour on the 14th (Thursday) around 21:00, and 1 hour on the 15th (Friday) from 12:00 to 3:00. It is said that it can reach up to 70 pieces in an hour. This is the first time in eight years that conditions have been favorable for this class.
There is a chance to see many meteors for several days before and after the peak day. According to the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan, the number of meteors that can be seen in an hour in a dark place in the sky is about 10 to 25 from the night of the 13th (Wednesday) to the dawn of the 14th (Thursday), and after the peak on the night of the 15th (Friday). It is said that around 15 to 20 meteors can be seen at dawn on the 16th (Saturday).
