Xinhua News Agency, Shanghai, September 21 (Reporter Xu Dongyuan) The reporter learned from the Shanghai Sports Bureau on the 21st that the 2023 Shanghai Marathon will start with a gunshot on November 26. The event will still take the form of split starts, and the total number of participants will return to 38,000, including 20,000 for the full marathon and 18,000 for the fitness run.
The starting point of this event is still located at Jinniu Plaza on the Bund, with two events: a full marathon and a fitness run. After three years of absence from the Shanghai Stadium, this year the end point of the full marathon will return to Xujiahui Sports Park, while the end point of the fitness run will be at the Shanghai Exhibition Center.
It is reported that runners with reserved places in the 2021 Shanghai Marathon fitness running event and the 2022 Shanghai Marathon full marathon event (including Shanghai Marathon Charity Runners) will be directly eligible to participate. If you are unable to participate this year, you can log in to your personal center during the pre-registration period to cancel the competition.
This event has direct quotas for the top 100 people in the 2023 Shanghai Women’s Half Marathon, the top 200 men and the top 100 women in the 2023 Shanghai Half Marathon, and the top 100 men and the top 50 women in the 2023 Shanghai Suzhou River Half Marathon. And the 100 runners who have obtained direct quotas through lottery in the 2022 online race do not need to participate in the lottery. This year “Shangma” will continue to set up 800 charity places.
