Apple presented the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max as its new top-of-the-line cell phones this Tuesday (12). Equipped with an exclusive high-performance processor and bringing several improvements to screens, cameras and features, the models promise one of the biggest technological leaps compared to their predecessors.

Screen and design
When we talk regarding size, resolution and technology, little has changed over the last few generations of the most advanced iPhone models. The iPhone 15 Pro Max has the same 6.7″ panel with a resolution of 2,796 x 1,290 as its predecessor, however, both models have a better viewing area by removing the notch from the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Thanks to their new titanium alloy construction, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max should be sturdier than their predecessors, which were built with a stainless steel chassis. In addition to its durability, the material is characterized by its lightness, allowing the new cell phones to weigh up to 9% less than models from the previous line.
Small design improvements have been made to the new devices. Now, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is sold in models starting at 256 GB, without the 128 GB version. The battery capacity is also a mystery, but the manufacturer promises “all-day autonomy”.
A change that many fans of the brand were waiting for was USB-C, which replaces the Lightning input on all new iPhone models. In addition to a new sensor that maintains a 48 MP resolution, the Photonic Engine — the smartphone’s image coprocessor — is now capable of working with images at the sensor’s maximum resolution, allowing it to simulate different focal lengths of 24, 28 and 35 millimeters.
This should allow the iPhone 15 Pro to capture better quality images at different zoom settings compared to the iPhone 14 Pro which, by default, only supported 12 MP outputs if the user did not use the ProRAW standard. The wide-angle and telephoto lens had no specified changes.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max also has a new 48 MP main sensor and maintains the ultrawide lens with a 12 MP sensor, but stands out for offering a new telephoto lens system with four prisms that deliver up to 5x optical zoom and 25% larger sensor, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max is limited to 3x optical zoom.
Apple didn’t reveal any major changes to the front camera of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, so we still have lenses with 12 MP sensors capable of recording videos at up to 4K @ 60 FPS with Cinema Mode. Smart HDR 5, on the other hand, promises to make images in high-contrast scenes more natural.
The iPhone 15 Pro will be launched in Brazil with suggested prices starting at R$9,299, costing less than the iPhone 14 Pro, which hit stores with a suggested price of R$9,499. The iPhone 15 Pro Max, starting at R$10,999, is also “cheaper” than the 256 GB version of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which arrived in the country for R$11,499.
