Exclusive interview: “Chinese engineers created this miracle with us” – Interview with Pulpic, chief engineer of Senj Wind Power Project in Croatia’s “Belt and Road” project
2023-10-09 09:05:06
Xinhua News Agency, Senj, Croatia, October 8 (Exclusive interview: “Chinese engineers created this miracle with us” – Interview with Pulpic, Chief Engineer of Senj Wind Power Project, Croatia’s “Belt and Road” Project
Xinhua News Agency reporter Li Xuejun
“The Senj Wind Power Project has created a miracle, and Chinese engineers have created this miracle with us.” Zlatko Pulpic, chief engineer of the Senj Wind Power Project in Croatia, which was invested and constructed by a Chinese company, recently accepted an exclusive interview with a reporter from Xinhua News Agency explain.
The Seni Wind Power Project is invested and constructed by Northern International Cooperation Co., Ltd. (Northern International), a subsidiary of China North Industries Co., Ltd.. Construction started in November 2018 and will be put into operation in December 2021. The project can provide regarding 530 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity every year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by regarding 460,000 tons, providing a strong impetus for Croatia to promote energy transformation and develop a green economy.
Pulpic believes that the Seni wind power project is a miracle, because the construction conditions of the project are very difficult and complex, and Northern International completed an “almost impossible task” on time and with high quality. First of all, the project is located in a steep mountainous area, where extreme weather such as heavy snow, strong winds and thunderstorms often occurs; secondly, the project construction scale is large, and the wind turbine transportation and hoisting technology is difficult, and the wind turbine hoisting height can reach 100 meters; thirdly, the construction must comply with EU standards , which has strict requirements for the environment and wildlife protection. In addition, the new crown epidemic was encountered during the construction.
Pulpic said the Senj wind power project allowed him to realize his wish to build a wind power project in his hometown. As a native of Senj, he established a wind power design company in Senj more than 10 years ago and designed a wind power project plan. However, due to various reasons, the design remained on the drawing board until Northern International invested and undertook the construction of Senj. Wind power projects.
After the Seni wind power project was launched, he accepted the invitation from Northern International to serve as the chief engineer of the project and devoted himself wholeheartedly to the project.
Pulpic said that as a key project of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Senj Wind Power Project can be called a model project of mutually beneficial cooperation between Croatia and China. The project not only provides green power to the Senj region and even Croatia as a whole, and creates many local job opportunities, but also allows more than 40 Croatian companies participating in the project to gain valuable experience and enhance the competitiveness of the companies in the Croatian and even European markets.
Pulpic said that through the Senj wind power project, Northern International has demonstrated Chinese technology, Chinese quality and Chinese speed, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation between Croatia and China. Northern International also actively fulfills its corporate social responsibilities and integrates into the local community, gaining a good reputation in Senyi.
Years of getting along have allowed Pulpic to form deep friendships with his Chinese colleagues. During the construction years, some Chinese colleagues lived very close to his home. They often visited his home following get off work and had a few drinks when they were happy. Influenced by his Chinese colleagues, he fell in love with Chinese food and learned to use chopsticks.
Although Pulpic has reached retirement age, in view of his professionalism and dedication, the project team considered continuing to hire him as the project chief engineer to perform operation and maintenance tasks. Pulpic said he would continue working on the Seni wind power project as long as the work required it.

Top 20 Canadian Prospects Without a Locker: The Rising Stars of Canadian Hockey
2023-10-09 04:00:00
The newspaper presents to you the top 20 Canadian prospects who do not yet have a locker in the team locker room. This is a list of achievements gleaned following several observations and discussions with recruiters. Among the 20 hopefuls, we note the presence of five players from Quebec.
20. Quentin Miller

> Guardian
› Quebec (LHJMQ)
› 14-4-0 | 2,11 | ,911
Miller is still very young, at 18 years old. He will act as number one goalie with the Quebec Remparts, a team rebuilding following winning the Memorial Cup.
19. Miguël Tourigny
› 7e tour (216e) in 2022
› Defender
› Trencin (Slovakia)
› 26 points (6 b, 20 p) in 44 matches
Tourigny chose to move to Slovakia last season. By his own admission, he emerged considerably from this experience by becoming a more complete defender.
18. Cedrick Guindon
› 4e tour (127e) in 2022
> Left winger
› Owen Sound (OHL)
› 69 points (22 g, 47 p) in 68 matches
Another small forward in the prospect bank. The Franco-Ontarian received an invitation to the Canadian team’s summer camp for the World Juniors.
17. Xavier Simoneau

› 6e tour (191e) in 2021
› Centre
› Laval (AHL)
› 38 points (6 g, 32 p) in 62 matches
Simoneau has an obvious quality, that of a worker. Despite his small size, he found ways to produce offensively last year in his first campaign with the Rocket.
16. Jared Davidson
› 5e tour (130e) in 2022
› Center / Winger
› Seattle (WHL)
› 82 points (38 b, 44 p) in 60 matches
A good scorer in the Western Junior League. Only drafted at 19, Davidson played as a 20-year-old last season in Seattle. He received kind words from Martin St-Louis and Alex Burrows during the first portion of camp
this season.
15. Riley Kidney
› 2e tour (63e) in 2021
› Centre
› Gatineau/Acadie-Bathurst (LHJMQ)
› 110 points (28 b, 82 p) in 60 matches
Offensively, Kidney was a master in the QMJHL with two seasons of 100 points or more. The Nova Scotian must, however, have other strings to his bow. He needs to learn to get his nose dirty.
14. Jayden Struble
› 2e tour (46e) in 2019
› Defender
› Northeastern (NCAA)
› 12 points (1 b, 11 p) in 31 matches
A complete athlete, a force of nature. Trevor Timmins described it this way. But also a fragile defender who spends too much time in the infirmary. After four years with the Huskies, Struble will play his first full season with the Rocket.
13. Bogdan Konyushkov
› 4th round (110e) in 2023
› Defender
› Nizhny Novgorod (KHL)
› 25 points (2 g, 23 p) in 64 games
Martin Lapointe and Nick Bobrov listened to Igor Larionov’s recommendations by betting on this 20-year-old left-handed defenseman in the fourth round during the last draft. He is having a very good start to the season in the KHL, playing big minutes in addition to producing offensively.

› 2e tour (64e) in 2021
› Centre
› KalPa (Finland)
› 27 points (12 g, 15 p) in 55 matches
Kapanen is still far from the spotlight in his native Finland. He wore the captain’s “C” with the Finnish team at the World Juniors and was one of the good junior-aged forwards in Liiga.
11. Filip Mesar
› 1is tour (26e) in 2022
› Right winger/center
› Kitchener (OHL)
Mesar slipped from the top 10 in this list. After a season in Kitchener, Ontario, the Slovakian aims to play with the Rocket this year. He will need to strengthen himself physically.
10. Jakub Dobes
› 5e tour (136e) in 2020
> Guardian
› Ohio (NCAA)
› 21-16-3 | 2,31 | ,918
On paper, Dobes will share the work with Cayden Primeau in Laval. At 22, he will experience his first professional season. He is a great, athletic guard, but he will need mileage.
9. William Trudeau
Photo Martin Chevalier
› 4e tour (113e) in 2022
› Defender
› Laval (AHL)
› 27 points (7 b, 20 p) in 60 matches
To recycle the words of Jean-François Houle during the rookie tournament, Trudeau is the one who “ran the patent” on the blue line. He thwarted the organization’s plans last year by clinging to a spot with the Rocket. But he did more than hang on, he became one of the good defenders.
8. Adam Engström
› 3e tour (92e) in 2022
› Defender
› Rögle (Suede)
› 16 points (6 b, 10 p) in 43 matches
Engström is increasingly coming out of the shadows. The 19-year-old is part of the top four on the blue line in Rögle, an organization that shaped the game of Moritz Seider before his arrival in Detroit.
7. Emil Heineman
› 2e tour (43e) in 2020
> Left winger
› Laval (AHL)
› 9 points (7 b, 2 p) in 11 matches
Acquired as part of the trade with the Flames for Tyler Toffoli, Heineman had a great transition from Leksands to Laval last season. The Swede is a good skater and he has a powerful shot.
1. Lane Hutson
Photo MARTIN ALARIE / JOURNAL DE MONTREAL
› 2e tour (62e) in 2022
› Defender
› Boston University (NCAA)
› 48 points (15 g, 33 p) in 39 matches
A diamond in the rough. Yes, he is small. Yes, he’s not big. But he has undeniable talent. He had a phenomenal rookie season, breaking Brian Leetch’s record for points. A brand that has stood since 1987. Hutson will stay at school for at least another season. If he continues his progress and if he adapts well to the reality of professional hockey the day he makes the jump, the CH will have achieved a steal by claiming him at the end of the second round.
