The Chamber of Deputies received the Economic Package for Fiscal Year 2024
The Chamber of Deputies received from the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP) the Economic Package for Fiscal Year 2024, which includes the General Economic Policy Criteria, the Federal Income Law initiative and the Expenditure Budget Project of the Federation.
At the reception ceremony, the president of the Board of Directors, Marcela Guerra Castillo (PRI), highlighted that with this act one of the most important democratic processes for the nation begins, with which the forecast of public income and the allocation of government spending and where the economic course of the country is set.
For this Chamber of Deputies, he highlighted that it is relevant to have direct and permanent communication channels with the Executive Branch, which allow for the democratic and plural construction of an inclusive Economic Package and, above all, the last of the current administration.
“In my capacity as president of this Chamber, I will have to guarantee that the legislative process of the 2024 Economic Package is carried out under the broadest conditions of freedom and respect, guaranteeing that all visions are heard. “I am convinced that respectful dialogue and the construction of consensus between the various political forces is the only way to move to a more prosperous and fair Mexico.”

He said that the deputies have the obligation to know, analyze and carry out a transparent, responsible debate facing Mexican society, which requires a budget that contributes to overcoming poverty and inequality, which contributes to economic growth. with social inclusion and the generation of more and better jobs.
“The Economic Package is, without a doubt, the most important financial instrument of the country, which reflects the vision of a national project and whose impact has long-term consequences, hence the decisions that will be made in the discussion of the Budget are of great relevance, since they will have repercussions for all Mexican families, especially for the communities and regions of our country.”
The deputy president pointed out that, at the same time, the tax policy provided for in the Economic Package must be disciplined, responsible, transparent and consistent with the exercise of spending. For this reason, she highlighted that it will be handed over to the Finance and Public Credit and Budget and Public Accounts commissions for their ruling.
On the other hand, the president of the Political Coordination Board, deputy Jorge Romero Herrera (PAN) said that the most important instrument of public policies is the Expenditure Budget of the Federation, because it is the reflection of the ideas and the authentic way to land the promises.
“We can all talk about education, culture, security, indigenous peoples, sports, among others, but, if all these ideas are not reflected in a budget, they are just ideas. We hope that this new package of both the Income Law and the Expenditure Budget will end up serving the people for their well-being”.
