Tomorrow, Wednesday, candidates for the presidential elections will choose the electoral symbols that each candidate will use in his propaganda campaign, which will be launched the day after tomorrow, Thursday, following the announcement by the National Elections Authority, headed by Counselor Hazem Badawy, of the final list of candidates to run in the 2024 presidential elections.

The authority is scheduled to announce the final list on Thursday, with the name of the candidate, his rank on the ballot, and the electoral symbol for each candidate, and the start of the electoral propaganda period, which will last for 30 days, ending with the start of the period of electoral silence inside the country specified in accordance with the electoral schedule for presidential election procedures on Sunday. Next December 8.

According to the desires of the candidates, the candidates will choose the electoral symbols tomorrow, as the campaigns of some candidates have already announced their symbols, which are:

– The legal advisor for the presidential candidate’s campaign, Farid Zahran, announced that his candidate had chosen the “sun” symbol.

The official spokesman for the presidential candidate’s campaign, Abdel-Sanad Yamama, announced that his candidate had chosen the “palm tree” symbol.

The official campaign of presidential candidate Hazem Omar announced that his candidate had chosen the symbol of “peace.”

– While the campaign of presidential candidate Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who was the first to submit his candidacy papers for the elections, is awaiting the announcement of the electoral symbol tomorrow, Wednesday, at the date specified in the timetable.

The National Elections Authority issued Resolution No. 19 of 2023 regarding determining electoral symbols and the rules for allocating them to candidates in the 2024 presidential elections, which stipulated that every candidate who was not excluded for any reason must choose an electoral symbol from among the symbols listed in name and form according to the priority of submitting the candidacy application.

The decision issued by the Commission included 15 of the symbols specified by the Commission, which are the symbols of the star, the sun, the lion, the horse, the eagle, the rooster, the scale, the plane, the watch, the palm tree, the boat, the umbrella, the telephone, glasses, and the ladder.

November 9 has been set to announce the final list of candidates and their electoral symbols and publish them in the Official Gazette, and electoral propaganda will begin from November 9.

It is noteworthy that the National Elections Authority had announced the timetable for the procedures and dates for the 2024 presidential elections, which included opening the door for nominations on October 5 for a period of ten days ending on October 14, with the voting process for Egyptians abroad taking place on December 1, 2, and 3 inside the country on the 10, 11, and 12. December.
