Washington, D.C. – U.S. News & World Report has released its 2025-2026 Best Global Universities rankings, evaluating over 2,250 institutions worldwide.
The rankings, which include universities from more than 100 countries, are based on academic research and reputation.
Key Findings:
Global Representation: The rankings feature universities from over 100 countries.
Top Countries: China leads with 397 ranked schools,followed by the United States (280),india (118),Japan (104),and the United Kingdom (93).
Expanded Subject Rankings: Eight subject rankings have been expanded this year, including agricultural sciences, artificial intelligence, computer science, and engineering. Methodology: The rankings are powered by data from the Web of Science Core Collection and InCites Benchmarking & Analytics, provided by Clarivate. The methodology considers factors such as global and regional research reputation, academic research performance, publications, citations, and international collaboration.
