2030 World Expo: Creating 2.5 Lakh Jobs in Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Sector

Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al Khatib said that two and a half lakh jobs will be created in Saudi Arabia, which is preparing for the 2030 World Expo. This is in addition to the six lakh jobs announced as part of the National Tourism Strategy. Meanwhile, an agreement was reached to provide job training to half a lakh people through five companies under Hadaf.

The minister also stated that more than a thousand hotel rooms will be furnished in the country as part of the exhibition. The new opportunities are in addition to those promised in the National Tourism Strategy announced in 2019. Six lakh opportunities will be created in the country through the strategy. The minister also explained that two and a half lakh jobs have already been created.

By 2030, sixteen lakh jobs will be created directly and indirectly in the country. The Minister added that jobs in the tourism sector do not require good skills and training courses are easily available. Meanwhile, Human Resource Development Fund or Hadaf has reached an agreement with five companies to organize training for half a lakh natives.
