2,117 new cases, more than 6.53 million people received three doses of the vaccine

A total of 2,117 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 1,366 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Sunday, which reports three new deaths.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, the ministry also clarified that the number of first-timers reached 24,853,149, that of people who received two doses amounted to 23,337,725, while 6,534,825 people received had three injections of the vaccine.

The new infection toll brings the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco on March 02, 2020 to 1,204,578, while the number of recovered people has increased to 1,169,060, i.e. a recovery rate of 97, 1%.

The new cases of infection were recorded in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (723), Casablanca-Settat (719), Fez-Meknes (182), Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (179), Marrakech-Safi ( 149), Souss-Massa (62), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (34), Draâ-Tafilalet (30), Oriental (14), Guelmim-Oued Noun (13), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (10) and Laâyoune- Sakia El Hamra (02). The total number of deaths rose to 16,101, with three new cases recorded in 24 hours in the regions of Casablanca-Settat, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra and Béni Mellal-Khénifra.

Active cases number 19,417, while severe or critical cases have reached 15 in the past 24 hours, bringing their total to 115.

As for the occupancy rate of intensive care beds, it stands at 2.2%.
