Project Colonies : MARS 2120 is a 2.5D side-scrolling action-adventure game set in a sci-fi setting, part of the Metroidvania subgenre and heavily inspired by one of the genre’s biggest franchises, Metroid. In the 22nd century, human colonization has become a reality on some planets of the solar system. After weeks of no response, Mars’ first colony sends a distress signal to Earth. Earth sends a group of elite, enhanced Space Marines led by Anna Charlotte to locate the source of the signal and find out what happened to her at the colony.
QUByte Interactive aims to provide an experience that mirrors many of the best features of Metroidvania games. Project Colonies : MARS 2120 will require knowledge of exploration and cartography, in particular.
