The two categories, GTD Pro and GTD, promise an electric final: only 97 points separate the first three into GTD Pro, and 117 in GTD.
The spotlights will be on two men in search of a resounding double. Madison Snow (BMW M4 GT3 EVO N ° 1 – Paul Miller Racing) and Kenton Koch (Ferrari 296 GT3 N ° 021 – Triarsi Competizione) remain on victories in Road America and had already shone in Vir in 2024. An all the more notable performance for Koch that he then evolved with another manufacturer and another team.
This race will also mark the end of the season for several drivers, since Dxdt Racing and Gradient Racing have aligned crews specific to theIMSA Michelin Endurance Cup. Robert Wickens (Corvette Z06 GT3.R n ° 36) will play his last race in this championship for this year, just like Jenson Altzman and Robert Megennis (Ford Mustang GT3 n ° 66).
The tray promises to be noted with 23 cars engaged – 10 in GTD Pro and 13 in GTD – ready to offer an intense show on the hilly 5.26 km of Vir. Between fights for titles, personal challenges and final shine, this last racing sprint of the year could rebatter the cards before the last two sleeves of Endurance Cup: the 6 hours of Indianapolis and Petit Le Mans.
