The awards night was held at the Ukrainian Cultural Center in New Jersey. Eminent people from various fields participated in the award ceremony. Straight Out Kerala received the Instagram Trendsetters Award. The best social media influencer goes to Shinnot Mathew who is popular with his YouTube channel Sawari. Eminent journalist George Joseph won the Excellence in Journalism award.
Dr. Sindhu Suresh received the Excellence in Engineering award and Ajay Venugopalan received the Excellence in Cinema award. The Excellence in Public Service award was given to Malayali Liju.P. Totam, the only South Asian in the New York Police.
24 children have been selected as environmental ambassadors. The recognition is for cleaning up the South Beach neighborhood as part of Twentyfour USA’s flagship Sea to Sky project.
