27 migrants died in the English Channel: Coast Guard is said to have failed – flight and politics

Paris/London – A year after a migrant boat capsized in the English Channel with 27 dead, there are indications of a serious failure of the coast guard in France. Although the migrants spent hours on cell phones from their sinking boat to rescuers in France, they referred them to the British side without sending any help, research by Le Monde newspaper showed. They confirm allegations by the two survivors of the disaster.
