It is the part that brings energy to the engine that has failed.

Glacier 3000

This Thursday morning around 11 a.m. a Glacier 3000 cable car, in Les Diablerets, broke down. The cabin was able to be brought back to the station thanks to its emergency engine.

But the 270 tourists present at the summit found themselves stranded. They were able to receive food and drink before being evacuated by helicopter from 1:30 p.m., says “24 hours”. Two aircraft took turns to bring everyone to the intermediate station where they were able to take the other cabin to go back down to the station. It was all over by 3:30 p.m.

The director of Glacier 3000, Bernhard Tschannen, explained to our colleagues that he hoped to be able to ensure the opening of the installation this Friday morning. “We are checking everything on site with our technical team. Suppliers are also hard at work finding a solution to repair or change this part. The goal is to have the cabin operating once more for the 9 a.m. opening. But at the time I speak to you, it is not yet certain.
