27th Dubai International Holy Quran Award: Competitions, Participants, and Prizes

The competitions of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, in its 27th session, began last night, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him. Its activities will continue until Ramadan 13, 1445 AH, at the headquarters of the Culture and Science Symposium in the Al Mamzar area. In Dubai, with the participation of about 70 countries and Islamic communities from around the world.

The competition activities began after Tarawih prayers. Yesterday, six competitors competed before the jury of the international competition in memorizing the narration of Hafs on the authority of Asim. They are: Al-Amin Musa from Cameroon, Moaz bin Muhammad Radi from Malaysia, Abdullah Jamal Hussein Al-Birawi from Jordan, and Ahmed Khubayb Sahi from Italy, Mohamed Hassan Ashrafsour Mali from Mauritius, and Mazhar Shuaib Bitou from the Philippines.

The prize is presented with a group of gifts to the public at the conclusion of the daily activities of the Qur’anic competition, and it is drawn in the presence of members of the competition’s organizing committee.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced its platinum sponsorship of the 27th cycle of the award.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of the Authority, said: “The award has become one of the most prominent awards in the world that is concerned with enhancing the spirit of competition in the field of memorizing the Holy Qur’an, and motivating the younger generations to adhere to their religion and realize their duties towards the true Islamic religion, which is based on goodness, tolerance and mutual support.

The award reflects the image of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates in the field of interest and care for the Holy Qur’an, honoring its memorizers, and consolidating tolerant human and Islamic values ​​and principles in the hearts of members of society.”

For his part, Advisor Ibrahim Mohammed Bu Melha, Advisor to His Highness the Ruler of Dubai for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs – Chairman of the Award’s Organizing Committee, said: “We consider the Award’s partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority a strategic partnership that serves the major events and activities of Dubai.
