In the context of the annual cultural events of the Municipality of Aegialia, following a relevant decision to hold a literary poetry competition every two years, the Culture Department of the Municipality in collaboration with the Society of Greek Writers announces the 2nd Literary competition.
The joint implementation with EEL (Society of Greek Writers) gives greater entity to the institution and transparency regarding the result of the evaluation of those who will participate.
The purpose of the competition is to upgrade and promote the Literature of our country, which many of our fellow citizens serve and honor with their awards and recognition.
THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE COMPETITION
The Department of Culture of the Municipality of Aegialia and the Society of Greek Writers announce the 2nd International Literary Poetry Competition.
CONTEST TERMS:
Competition theme: Free
Those who have reached the age of 18, write in Greek and live in a foreign country can participate in the competition. Participate in the competition with a poem that will not exceed 32 lines, in any poetic form (free or rhyming).
The poem must be written on a computer and in Arial Narrow 14 font. The competing poem must not have been published or published in any print or electronic medium or won an award in another competition. The poem will be sent in five typed copies, bearing only the entrant’s pseudonym, top right, inside an envelope. In this envelope, only the nickname will be written instead of the sender. Inside there will be a smaller sealed envelope, on which the competitor’s nickname will be written and inside will be typed his full details (pseudonym, first name, last name, postal address, landline and mobile phone number, e-mail and the title of the poem) .
Poems must be sent by ordinary post and not by registered letter by May 31, 2024 (postmarked) to:

The poems will be judged by a 5-member committee and the results will be announced in the first ten days of September 2024. The committee’s judgment is final and cannot be disputed. 3 Prizes, 3 Commendations and 5 Honorable Mentions will be awarded. The awardees who will come to receive their awards and the kilometer distance of their residence exceeds 100 kilometers will be accommodated in a hotel in our city.
