Rain forecast of up to 600 mm or more from this day to the 6th
Typhoon Hinnamno headed north toward Jeju on the 5th, and a typhoon warning was issued across the land and sea of Jeju Island.
The Jeju Regional Meteorological Administration announced that a typhoon advisory would be in effect for all parts of Jeju Island and off the coast of Jeju Island as of 8:00 am on the same day.
A typhoon warning is already in effect in the far west west of the South Sea.
As the typhoon is getting closer, strong winds are blowing across Jeju Island, and waves are rising in the sea.
As of 4 a.m. on that day, the maximum instantaneous wind speed at each point was 29.1 m/sec for Sazebi in Hallasan Mountain, 20.2 m in Saebyeol Oreum, 15.8 m in Nakcheon, 13.2 m in Gasari in Seogwipo, and 12.4 m in Jungmun.
The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that the maximum instantaneous wind speed will be around 40-60 meters per second on Jeju Island by the 6th due to the influence of the typhoon.
In addition, it said that it will rain a lot with thunder and lightning along with a gust of wind, and in particular, there will be places with very strong rain of 50 to 100 mm per hour until the early morning of the 6th.
The expected precipitation is 100 to 300 mm from today to the 6th, with more than 600 mm of rain in the mountains.
Typhoon Hinnamno is a very strong typhoon with a central pressure of 935 hectopascals (hPa) and a maximum wind speed of 49 m/s as of 3 am on the same day.
