Kuwait City: 170 people died in road accidents in the country till the end of November this year. Statistics released by the Home Ministry also show that 3.4 million traffic violations were reported.

Six governorates of the country have reported various violations and accidents. 92 percent of accidents are caused by distracted driving. Eight percent are for various other reasons.

4,594 accidents occurred due to lack of attention. Kuwait City had the highest number of accidents with 1,262 accidents. Other casualties include Hawalli- 1,015, Farwaniya- 669, Jahra- 468, Ahmadi- 730 and Mubarak Al Kabir- 450.

The death toll in the accident is 170, including 18 women. 52 people died in Jahra. Most of the dead are between 31 and 40 years old. Babies between the ages of one month and 10 years are also on the list. Major General Mohammad Al Utaibi, director general of the Penalty Division, said traffic violations are being registered by the police directly and through cameras. Cameras have been installed on all major roads and various public places in the country.
