A train with more than 200 passengers derailed in the US state of Missouri on Monday and the wagons overturned.
Three people were killed in the accident, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
An Air Ambulance Service official said at least eight helicopters were used to fly patients from the accident site to clinics. A total of 40 people are said to have been taken to hospitals.

A video shared on a Twitter channel shows many passengers sitting with their luggage on overturned train cars. A conductor stands by helplessly. Apparently, after the accident, the passengers climbed out of the overturned wagons via windows.

The collision was the second in two days in which an Amtrak train struck a passenger vehicle. On Sunday, 85 passengers were on board a train in rural California that collided with a vehicle.
Three people were killed and two people sustained serious injuries, authorities said. All of the victims were in the vehicle.
