Three people who were in a street situation died after eat spoiled food that they had collected among the rubbish of the Wholesale Marketconfirmed the Attorney General of Mexico City.
The victims were located thanks to a survivor who was transferred to a public hospital to be treated for severe intoxication, so the authorities continue to search for more affected people in the vicinity of the Central de Abasto.
The survivor’s testimony indicates that a group of homeless people collected various foods from the garbage, some in poor condition, which they combined and cooked to be able to eat in one of the ridges that surround the Central de Abasto.
However, after removing the hunger they began to present severe symptoms of poisoningso they began to feel bad while one of them tried to call for help.
When the emergency services arrived in the area to help the others affected, they found the bodies of three victims, but they could no longer help them.
