The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters announced in a press conference yesterday the activities of the 15th edition of the Summer Cultural Festival, which will be held from 3 to 17 September, and the International Music Festival from 18 to 22 of the same month at the Sheikh Jaber Cultural Center.
Aisha Al-Mahmoud, the Assistant Secretary-General for the Culture Sector in the Council, stated that the number of the festival’s activities exceeds 30 activities that vary between music, arts, handicrafts and heritage, and literary activities, “and include all segments of society, pointing out that the session coincides with the fifty years since the founding of the National Council.”
For his part, Assistant Secretary-General for the Arts Sector Musaed Al-Zamil said that the international music festival, which will be opened under the auspices and presence of the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Chairman of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, and the activities include a night honoring the ambassador of the Gulf song, artist Abdullah Al-Ruwaishid, in addition to honoring the great musician Dr. Abdul Rab Idris.
