A new daily temperature record was broken on Sunday afternoon in Uccle, with 31.9 degrees recorded, meteorologist David Dehenauw announced on the social network Twitter. The previous record observed since the temperature reading for August 14 dates back to 1911 and stood at 31 degrees.
Belgium has been officially in a heat wave since Saturday. On that day, the temperature in the country again exceeded 25 degrees Celsius for the fifth day in a row.
