31 Consecutive Draws Without a Jackpot Winner: Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $1.55 Billion

Another US Mega Millions lottery draw, another night without a jackpot winner.

The numbers drawn on Friday evening were: 11, 30, 45, 52, 56 and the golden ball 20.

Because no one matched all six numbers and won the estimated $1.35 billion jackpot, the top prize rose to $1.55 billion for the next draw, scheduled for Tuesday evening.

There have now been 31 consecutive draws without anyone winning the jackpot. The last time someone won the Mega Millions jackpot was on April 18th.

The $1.55 billion prize would be for a single winner who chooses the 30-year annuity option. Most of the winners opt for a lump sum payment, which would be estimated at $757.2 million as of Tuesday.

A large portion of those winnings would go to federal taxes, while many states also tax lottery payouts.

The jackpot is tough to win due to the 1 in 302.6 million odds of matching numbers on five white balls and a separate mega ball. The chances are greater of winning smaller prizes, which start at $2.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington, DC and the US Virgin Islands.
