31 is the number of new emojis that will be launched for the end of 2022. There are emojis relating to animals, faces, hands, etc.
Currently there are over 3000 different emojis and some are still missing. This lack of emojis can be quite frustrating for some users. Unicode version 15.0 will bring 31 new emojis by the end of 2022.
Shortly before World Emoji Day to be held this Sunday, July 17, the site Emojipedia reveals the list of these new visuals. The final slate is expected in September, and adoption within iOS and macOS could be late this year or early 2023.
This 15.0 version brings some originality, but much less than in previous years. Indeed, version 13.0 brought 334 new emojis and version 14.0 brought 112 new emojis.
Who are they ?
In this new version, we can find the following emojis:
- Face: trembling face
- Hands: high-five hands in multiple skin tones
- Animals: moose, jellyfish, donkey, goose, blackbird, angel wing
- Plants: ginger, jasmine flower, peas
- Objects: Fan, comb, maracas, flute
- Symbols: Khanda, WiFi, turquoise heart, gray heart, pink heart
Each operating system manufacturer and publisher will be able to recreate its own versions adapted to its visual identity. It is therefore possible to see these emojis land on Apple’s operating systems as well as on Android.
