“32 Detained in Ankara for Cyber Attacks on Turkish State Institutions”

In Ankara, 32 people were detained as part of an operation against hackers. They allegedly planned to carry out cyber attacks on 10,000 websites, of which 450 belong to state institutions in Turkey, the state television channel reports. TRT News.

According to the anti-terrorist unit responsible for the operation, 42 people are involved in the case. They were wanted in 19 different cities, including Ankara. During the searches, “a large amount of digital materials” were seized from the detainees, as well as 830 units of synthetic drugs. Whether the alleged hackers belong to any group is not specified.

The detentions were carried out on the eve of the presidential and parliamentary elections to be held in Turkey on Sunday, May 14.
