Some 35 workers who carried out tasks in the Procrear Building in Villa María were fired by the construction company, the union confirmed this Wednesday.

The secretary of the Construction Workers Union (Uocra), Daniel Sánchez, broke the news on a Radio Villa María program.

Sánchez declared that Tuesday was being a “normal day” until five-thirty in the afternoon, when, due to a question from the delegates of the Procrear building work, “we found out that there were 35 casualties” of 50 workers.

Faced with this news, the secretary commented that they carried out all the pertinent actions, they contacted the owner of the Buenos Aires project about late certifications and at that time, they made the decision to terminate the workers.

“At no time did they communicate with us,” he said about the construction company, so the workers had to return to their homes, “with the advantage that they were given the Christmas box.”

On the other hand, he commented that on the same Tuesday they also made them sign the telegram. “We could make other types of decisions but we have another downgrade and it is not what we are used to,” said Sánchez.

“We prefer that our colleagues go home and try to resolve it legally, which is what corresponds to us as a union and find a way back so that the workers return to the workplace,” said the union member regarding the question of whether they would carry out a measure of strength.
