35-year-old man drowns in Lake Plön – SAT.1 REGIONAL

A 35-year-old man drowned in the Great Plön Lake (Schleswig-Holstein). The man from the Plön district was on his way to a bathing platform behind the non-swimmer area separated by buoys in Bosau on Tuesday evening and then sank, a police spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

In a large-scale rescue operation, the fire brigade and DLRG, among others, searched for the man. He was rescued by divers from the Johanniter aid organisation around two hours after he went under. The Eutin criminal police have taken over the investigation into the cause of the accident.
