Left-back Lukas Griebsch (18) is about to move to the regional league. According to BILD information, the HFC homegrown sign a contract with Southwest representative VfB Stuttgart II on Monday.
The defensive talent saw little prospects in Halle and informed the club some time ago about a change request. Coach André Meyer (38) could not guarantee the young professional any game practice.
Since Griebsch still has an ongoing contract with HFC until June 2023, the third division team is looking for a fee. This should be in the middle five-digit range.
According to BILD information, Stuttgart coach and ex-Bundesliga professional Frank Fahrenhorst (44) tried hard for the Halle player. At VfB, the left foot is a possible option in both the back three and the back four on the outside.
Griebsch’s departure could open up a gap for another HFC talent: Tim Cook (19) should be brought even closer to the professionals. After the training camp, coach Meyer spoke out in favor of giving the ex-A youth player a chance in the third division squad.
