The podium of the richest men in the world has just been shaken. According to Bloomberg, Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg has given way to Tesla boss Elon Musk.
And yes, even the richest men on the planet are competing financially. The arrival of Tesla in the S&P 500 made the price of the car manufacturer jump (+ 15% Monday evening) and therefore the fortune of its founder Elon Musk. The latter has thus climbed by 11.8 billion dollars, which now represents for the owner of Tesla and Space X a total jackpot of 114 billion.
At the start of the year, Elon Musk’s fortune was, however, estimated “at only $ 90 billion”. During the month of August, the stock market share gained 50% of its value, which is extremely rare in the stock market world. More recently, the stock split by five has been accompanied by a further increase of 10%. Currently, a Tesla share is trading at $ 475.05.
Elon Musk’s fortune is now estimated at $ 114 billion. At 49, he therefore becomes the third richest man on the planet and overtakes Mark Zuckerberg, the boss of Facebook. At the moment, Elon Musk is still far from Bill Gates and his $ 129 billion or the indestructible Amazon boss Jeff Bezos. His fortune, estimated at 184 billion, has continued to increase since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. But there is no doubt that the director of Tesla could still surprise us in the coming months.
