4.95 billion dirhams in loans in 2022 – Morocco today

A total of 4.95 billion dirhams (MMDH) in loans were committed by local authorities (CT) to the Municipal Equipment Fund (FEC) in 2022, according to the Budget Directorate, reporting to the Ministry of the Economy and Finance.

Last year, the FEC Credit Committee held 10 meetings to decide on these loans intended to finance CT infrastructure and equipment projects, for an investment of MAD 11 billion covering various sectors. intervention, indicates the Management in its 2022 activity report.

The loans allocated consist of traditional loans (2.12 billion dirhams; 43%) and loans within the framework of the Memoranda of Understanding concluded between the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of the Interior and the FEC, relating to the financing of the share of the Ministry of the Interior or the CTs in territorial development projects and programs (2.83 billion dirhams; 57%), specifies the report.

Also, a Specific Financing Protocol and its amendment no. 1 were signed with the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG). This protocol concerns an amount of 9 billion dirhams, including 6 billion dirhams intended for the construction of interconnection and water supply works between the Sebou (Grand Sebou Dam) and Bouregreg (Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah Dam) basins.
